PAPER CRAFT
Sculpted Backlit Paper Dioramas
A unique idea that has always stood out to me is the use of paper as art, rather than the canvas. Since high school I have been slowly building these paper dioramas that encapsulated the story of a lonesome man travelling a mysterious world. Sadly, it is not a clean, nor space friendly medium to work with and as such, it has been difficult to continue my craft as I've moved around Victoria.

A look into the making of these pieces
The process behind creating these dioramas is actually quite a simple, yet tedious experience. Each layer involved in a piece must be sketched out, cut with a scalpel, tidied up and then appropriately spaced away from the other layers. While no component is too hard to do on its own, creating a means of spacing the paper, providing strong backlighting and remaining delicate with the work combines to create a lengthy process.
